X-Wing "Red 4" - The fuselage

The fuselage of the X-Wings were made from 2 halves right and left resin halves for the pyros, upper resin and lower vacformed (from the latest news) ones for the hero models. I used the V3 Salzo X-Wing fuselage for this purpose which is composed of one upper and one lower resin part.

Upper fuselage

On the upper part I sanded all the chips and replaced them with new ones made from styrene. I replicated the pyro pattern. I also cut the lips of the canopy frames, they were not accurate to Red 4.

Lower fuselage

The lower fuselage get the same treatment.

Assembling

Gluing the 2 halves was a though task but finally came out well. I used putty along the seam line and I sanded the nose to shape to get it flush with the fuselage. The nose case can be removed to have access to the front mounting point.

Last details

II sanded it smooth to get an invisible seam line, as you can see I had to add some styrene to get it all right. Ten I added the last styrene chips after the sanding was complete.
